NTU ODAC Firelight '07

This is Unrealistic.

2 weeks into official school term, and here I am at Pasir Ris MRT on a Saturday morning (18Aug), waiting to go for ODAC 'Firelight' leisure camping trip. Notes and tutorial nv leaves my mind and I wonder why am I there in the first place. Yes its the desire for adventure!!!

This is the first time I go Ubin thru the civillian channel, which is by taking the 2 dollar bum boat ride at Changi Terminal. I went OBS in Ubin b4, but that one was school base and it wasnt really the 'real' Ubin.

It is also a exploration plus scouting trip, for future chalet and fishing trips that I might organise next time.

Upon reaching Ubin,came sight of pure 'Kampong-ness'. I felt like I was in Malaysia where cats and dogs run wild, with shophouses filling the streets. It was exciting to see lots of ppl cycling with rods attached to their back, its a Angler's instinct to ponder where where is the fishing spot around the area.

First activity, wat else, it was ice-breakers with name games and the usual 'tuki tuki game'. Glad to know some new ppl in the grp. Then it was the trek to the highest peak of Ubin ........ wah this is ultimate cos I din know Singapore has such a nice place

It was at a cliff looking over Singapore and Ubin with a grand silent quarry below us. A drizzle and dark clouds made the scenery more dreamlike.

After that, we set off to the campsite where we set up tents, have BBQ, and more grp games.

It was the night walk which was the hightlight of the trip. Each of us was paired up with a opposite gender partner, and we had to walk into a night trail lited by light sticks SUPER far apart. Haha my partner was a cheerful plus chatty girl so it was enjoyable to walk with her.

From the start, we were both chatting bt sch and stuff since it was quite walkable. However as we go deeper into the trail, the roads get muddy and paddles of water came into our way. "Piak!" and we both step into a pool of muddy water and we have to fall into each other's support. Haha well well from then on we have to come closer, holding on to each other's shoulders as we made our way thru the rest of the trail. Quite nice wor!

Sunday came and there was a mini trail along Chek Jawa Marshland.Lots of Globlins where making marshmallow there and it was so farny (joking la ! haha) There are lots of wild life and creatures there lor not bad not bad.

Hope to bring my frens such as Sky, Mh, Ri Dong to save them from rotting at home, there next time. Cheers
